OpenCart is a light, open source platform that many small businesses in Dubai and the UAE already run. It is quick to set up and cheap to host, which is why so many stores start there. The trouble comes later: a marketplace theme never designed for your products, a stack of paid extensions that conflict with each other, and a version nobody dares to upgrade.
We build OpenCart stores that avoid those traps and we rescue the ones that fell into them. A custom theme designed for your range and built to the platform's own conventions. Extensions chosen for what they do, not how many there are. Payments, VAT and delivery configured for the Emirates, with Arabic and English handled properly.
Our founder has built online stores since 2016 across WooCommerce, Shopify and custom platforms, and the same discipline applies here: fast pages, secure code and a store your team can run. We also tell you plainly when OpenCart is no longer the right fit and what to move to.
What is included
- A custom OpenCart theme designed for your products, responsive from 320 pixels wide and tested on real phones
- Catalogue setup: categories, options, attributes, filters and product pages built for how customers shop your range
- Store setup for the UAE: AED, VAT, Telr, PayTabs, Stripe, Tabby and Tamara, and cash on delivery where it fits
- Shipping methods and zones for Dubai, the Emirates and the GCC, with courier integration for labels and tracking
- Arabic and English language packs with right to left layouts checked page by page
- Extension review: remove what conflicts, replace what is abandoned and keep only what earns its place
- Custom extensions written to OpenCart standards when no good one exists
- Speed and security work: caching, image optimisation, a hardened admin and a security audit before launch
- Upgrades from older OpenCart versions and migrations to or from other platforms, with URLs preserved
- Training for your team and a month of support after launch
How it works
1. Discover
One call about your products, your customers and your current store. If you run OpenCart already we audit version, extensions, hosting and speed first.
2. Plan
Theme, extensions, integrations and content, with a fixed price and timeline. You see what you supply and what we build before anything starts.
3. Design
Home, category and product pages first, reviewed on a real phone. Then cart and checkout, with the fewest steps the platform allows.
4. Build
Theme and extensions developed on a staging copy, payments tested in sandbox mode, test orders placed, paid and tracked before you see it.
5. Launch and grow
Redirects, sitemap and search console on launch day, then a month of support and a care plan if you want one, because OpenCart stays healthy when someone is watching it.
Should I build a new store on OpenCart in Dubai?
It can suit a small catalogue, a tight budget and a team that wants to self host. For most new stores we compare it with WooCommerce and Shopify first, and the free call is where we do that honestly.
Can you fix my existing OpenCart store?
Yes, and this is most of the OpenCart work we are asked for. We audit the store, remove conflicting extensions, patch security, speed up the pages and bring the version up to date. Sometimes the answer is a new theme on the same store, sometimes a rebuild.
Can you upgrade an old version?
Yes. We test the upgrade on a copy of your store first, fix the extensions and theme that break, and only switch over when products, orders and customers all check out. Your live store stays up throughout.
Which payment methods work with OpenCart in the UAE?
Telr, PayTabs and Stripe for cards, Tabby and Tamara for buy now pay later, and cash on delivery. We set up the mix that suits your customers and test each one with sandbox transactions before launch.
Who does the work?
Your contact, planning and project management are in Dubai. Development is shared with our team of more than forty specialists in Chennai, Coimbatore, Singapore and Malaysia who work on PHP commerce platforms every week.
What if we outgrow OpenCart?
We help you move. We plan the migration to WooCommerce, Shopify or Magento, map products, customers, orders and URLs so you keep your history and rankings, and run both stores in parallel until you are ready to switch.
