Cookies notice

Cookies are small files a website can store in your browser. This notice explains which ones this website uses, why we use them, how long they last and how to change your mind.

Your choice

When you first visit, a banner asks whether we may use cookies for analytics and for marketing. Nothing from Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity or any advertising platform loads until you choose, and nothing loads at all if you say no. Reject all is as easy as Accept all, and Settings lets you choose each kind on its own.

Change your choice

You can change your choice at any time. Use Cookie settings at the foot of any page. If you take back a yes, we delete the analytics and advertising cookies this website set and the tools stop at once.

We remember your choice for six months, then we ask again.

Necessary cookies

These keep the website working and secure. They are always on.

  • sayso_consent: remembers your cookie choice. Set by this website. Lasts six months.
  • _GRECAPTCHA: set by Google reCAPTCHA when you start filling in our brief form, to check that a person, not a program, is sending it. Lasts six months. It is not used for advertising, and nothing from Google loads for it before you click into the form.

Our staff sign in to manage the website. That sign-in uses cookies, but only for people who log in. Visitors never see them.

Analytics cookies

These load only if you accept Analytics. They show us which pages help, which do not and where visitors get stuck, so we can make the website better. We do not use them to find out who you are.

Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics records the pages you view, how you arrived, your rough location (city or region), your device and browser, and actions such as pressing a button, playing a film or sending a brief. It never receives your name, email address, phone number or message. Google signals and advertising features are switched off. Google's Privacy Policy applies.

  • _ga: tells one visitor from another with a random number. Lasts two years.
  • _ga_98GH4VHKZ4: keeps track of your visit to this website. Lasts two years.

Microsoft Clarity

Clarity shows us how visitors scroll, click and move through our pages, as recordings and heatmaps that do not show who you are. Everything typed into a form is hidden, and our brief forms are hidden from recordings completely. Microsoft's Privacy Statement applies.

  • _clck: keeps a random Clarity number for you, so your visits can be grouped. Lasts one year.
  • _clsk: groups the pages of one visit. Lasts one day.
  • CLID: set on clarity.ms, so Clarity knows it has seen this browser before. Lasts one year.
  • MUID: set on clarity.ms and bing.com, Microsoft's random number for this browser. Lasts one year.
  • ANONCHK, MR and SM: set by Microsoft to make the above work. Each lasts a week or less.

Marketing cookies

These would load only if you accept Marketing. They measure whether our adverts lead to enquiries. We do not use any of these tools yet. When we switch one on, we will add it here with its cookies, and it will load only for visitors who accept Marketing.

  • Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram): not in use yet. Would set _fbp, which lasts three months.
  • Google Ads: not in use yet. Would set _gcl_au, which lasts three months.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag: not in use yet. Would set li_fat_id, which lasts one month, and bcookie, which lasts one year, on linkedin.com.
  • TikTok Pixel: not in use yet. Would set _ttp, which lasts 13 months.

How you found us

When you send a brief, we note how you found us: the website or search engine that sent you, the campaign name in the link if there was one, and the first page you saw. This is not a cookie. Your browser keeps it only for your visit, in session storage, and forgets it when you close the tab. It is sent with your brief so we can see which of our marketing works.

The brief form

When you start filling in our brief form, Google reCAPTCHA loads to check that a person, not a program, is sending it. It may store a cookie called _GRECAPTCHA in your browser. That cookie is needed for the security check. It is not used for advertising, and it expires after six months. Nothing from Google loads on any other page, or before you click into the form.

Films from YouTube and Vimeo

Some case studies show a film hosted on YouTube or Vimeo. Nothing loads from them until you press play. We use YouTube's privacy enhanced mode and ask Vimeo not to track you. Once you press play, those services may store their own cookies or similar data in your browser, under their own policies.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking them does not stop you reading the site, and the brief form still sends.
