The challenge
Aruna Furniture sells living room, bedroom and dining furniture along with a wide range of decor, from artifacts and table accents to floor plants and planters. A catalogue this deep is a navigation problem before it is a design problem. The store had to let a customer narrow down quickly, by room, by piece and by size, while keeping a warm, home like feel.
What we built
We designed and built the store on WooCommerce with a category menu built around how people furnish a home. Living room covers sofas by seat count, from one seater to six seater and corner sofas, as well as sofa sets, recliners, TV units, study desks, bookshelves and shoe racks. Bedroom groups suites, beds, cots and mattresses, and dining has its tables and sets. Decor has its own branch for plants, arrangements, vases and accents. The home page moves through shop by category, new arrivals, bedroom suites, floor plants and sofas, each with a short line of copy. Order tracking, FAQs and contact sit in the menu so after sales questions have a clear place.

The outcome
A customer can go from the home page to exactly the sofa size they need in two clicks, and a decor shopper has a separate path that does not run through furniture. The structure gives the retailer room to add ranges without the menu becoming a wall of links.
