Android Apps

Native Android apps built in Kotlin for the full range of phones your customers carry, from budget devices to the latest flagships. For businesses in Dubai and the UAE that need to reach every customer, not only the ones on iPhone.

Android is a harder platform to do well than people think. Screens of every size, phones from budget to flagship, slow networks and old operating system versions still in daily use. An app designed on one new phone and never tested anywhere else looks broken to many of the people who install it, and in Dubai and the wider region that is a lot of customers.

We design and build native Android apps in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, Google's current tools, and we test them on a shelf of real devices from budget to flagship. The app connects to the systems your business already runs, respects battery and data, and goes through Google Play review with the listing done properly.

Our mobile engineers have shipped food delivery, pet services, recruitment, blood donation and distributor ordering apps on Android.

What is included

  • Discovery and a written product definition: who the app is for, what it does and the first release worth shipping
  • Interface design that follows Material Design, so the app feels native on every Android phone
  • Clickable prototype tested with real users on real devices before any code is written
  • Native development in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose, with the backend API built or connected by the same team
  • Google Pay, Google Maps, push notifications and sign in set up where the app needs them
  • Testing on a range of real devices, from budget phones to flagships, and on older Android versions
  • Arabic and English with right to left layouts tested on device
  • Offline behaviour, slow network handling, battery and data use designed in from the start
  • Analytics and crash reporting so you know what users do and what breaks
  • Google Play listing, screenshots, review submission, documentation and a month of support after launch

How it works

1. Discover

We learn who will use the app, on which phones and networks, and what it must talk to. We define a first release that real users would install and keep.

2. Plan

Screens, data, API, the devices and Android versions we will support, and a fixed scope with price and timeline. We tell you what belongs in the first release and what should wait.

3. Design

Wireframes, then a clickable prototype on a real Android phone, tested with a few of your customers. We fix what confuses them before it costs engineering time.

4. Build

Kotlin and Jetpack Compose development alongside the API, with test builds shared through Google Play every week so you use the app as it grows. Automated tests on the critical paths and a review of every change.

5. Launch and grow

Google Play submission and release, then monitoring, a month of support and a plan for updates.

Native Android or a cross platform app?

Native when the experience matters most, when you need deep access to the device, or when Android users are your core audience. Cross platform when you need Android and iOS together from one codebase and the budget favours it. We build both and recommend honestly. See our Cross-platform Apps service.

Which phones and Android versions do you support?

We agree the range in the plan based on who your customers are. Typically that means budget phones as well as flagships and the Android versions still widely in use in the UAE, tested on real devices rather than only in an emulator.

Do you build the backend as well?

Yes. Most apps need an API, a database and an admin dashboard. We build those alongside the app or connect to the systems you already run, so one team owns the whole thing.

Who does the work?

Our Dubai team runs discovery, product definition and project management and is your point of contact. Design and engineering are shared with our engineering team, who built the Android apps in our portfolio.

Does the app work in Arabic?

Yes. We design and build bilingual apps with right to left layouts and test them on real devices, so Arabic users get a proper experience.

How long does an Android app take?

A focused first release usually takes a few months from sign off, depending on the backend and integrations. We release in stages so the most useful version reaches Google Play first.

Can you build the iOS version too?

Yes. Many clients launch on both. We build a native iOS app alongside, sharing the same backend, or recommend a cross platform build if that suits the budget better.
