B2B ordering app for a leading FMCG brand

A fast moving consumer goods brand needed its distributors ordering from live stock and live prices, not from a printed list.

The challenge

A leading fast moving consumer goods brand in Chennai takes orders from a network of distributors. Orders placed from printed price lists and phone calls drift out of step with real stock and current pricing, and every order has to be keyed into the accounting system afterwards. The brand needed an app its distributors could order from directly, with stock, prices and billing coming from the same source its finance team already used.

What we built

The business to business app is integrated with Marg ERP, the brand's existing system. Distributors see live stock levels and current pricing drawn from the ERP, so an order can only be placed for what is available at the right price. When an order is confirmed, billing is generated through the same integration, which removes the re-keying step and the errors that come with it. The ordering flow is kept simple for busy distributors: browse or search the range, enter quantities, review the bill and confirm. The client's name is not published at its request.

The outcome

Orders now arrive in the system already correct, priced and billed, and distributors can order at any hour without waiting for a sales call. The integration means the app and the accounts never disagree, which is the quiet requirement that makes a business to business tool trustworthy.
