Edaiya

A food delivery app for Chennai that keeps the menu honest with live inventory and keeps the customer informed with order tracking.

The challenge

Edaiya is a food delivery service in Chennai. A delivery app lives or dies on two moments: whether the item a customer picks is actually available, and whether they can see where their order is after paying. Many apps fall down on both. Edaiya needed an Android app that showed the catalogue clearly, reflected real stock, took payment securely and kept the customer informed until the food arrived.

What we built

The Android app presents the catalogue of food items for browsing and search. Inventory is live, so an item that has sold out disappears or is marked unavailable before a customer can order it, rather than being cancelled afterwards. Checkout is secure, with payment handled through protected flows rather than within the app's own code. Once an order is placed, order tracking shows its progress through preparation and delivery, so the customer does not need to call to ask. The structure separates the catalogue, the cart and the order history into clear screens that a first time user can follow without instruction.

The outcome

The app gives Edaiya a direct channel to its customers that does not depend on third party delivery platforms. Live inventory removes the most common cause of complaints, and order tracking answers the most common question before it is asked. It was the first of our mobile apps.
