Some businesses still need a server in the building. A clinic that wants patient files kept on site. A trading company with an accounting system that only runs on Windows Server. The cloud is not always the answer, and when it is not the server needs to be specified and installed by someone who does it regularly. We do that for offices in Dubai and the UAE.
We start with what the server has to do and work back to the hardware. We specify the machine, supply it or work with what you have bought, rack it, install the operating system, set up users, shares, backups and remote access, and hand over a documented system your team can rely on. One engineer owns the job from survey to handover.
Server installation is delivered by Najaha Solutions, our parent company in Al Karama, Dubai, operating since 2020. Our engineers install on site across the UAE, so the server is commissioned in your office and tested with your staff logged in.
What is included
- A site survey of your office, network, power and the room or cabinet the server will live in
- A written specification: processor, memory, storage, redundancy and the operating system, with reasons
- Supply of the server, or installation of hardware you have already bought
- Racking, cabling, UPS protection and tidy labelling, so the cabinet can be worked on later
- Operating system installed and updated: Windows Server or Linux, with roles configured for your use
- User accounts, file shares and permissions, with a domain controller where it makes sense
- Backups to a second device and off site, with a documented and tested restore
- Secure remote access for your team and for support, with firewall rules set tight
- Full documentation and a handover session for whoever looks after it day to day
How it works
1. Survey
We visit your office, look at the network and power, count the users and talk through what the server must run now and in a few years.
2. Plan
You receive a specification and a fixed quote covering hardware, software, licences and our work, with an installation date agreed around your working hours.
3. Install
We rack and cable the server, connect the UPS, install and patch the operating system, join it to your network and build the roles, shares and accounts from the plan.
4. Test
Backups are run and restored. Failover is tested where you have it. Every user logs in and opens the files and applications they need before we call it done.
5. Support
A documented handover, then support from the same engineers for patches, capacity and anything that goes wrong. We can also look after it under a maintenance arrangement.
Do we really need a server, or should we move to the cloud?
It depends. If your main needs are email, documents and video calls, Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace is usually the better choice and we will say so. If you run business software that needs Windows Server, handle very large files or want data kept on site, a local server earns its place.
How long does a server installation take in Dubai?
Hardware lead times vary, so we order early. Once the equipment is in the building, installation and configuration happen in an agreed window, often outside office hours. The plan gives you the dates.
Which server brands do you install?
We specify and install Dell, HPE and Lenovo servers and Synology storage, and we install hardware you have bought yourself. We choose the model to fit the workload and the budget, and we tell you why.
Can you replace our old server without losing data?
Yes. We build the new server alongside the old one, migrate data, users and applications, test everything, then switch. The old server stays available until you sign off, after which we wipe it securely.
What about power cuts and cooling?
Every server we install sits behind a UPS sized for a clean shutdown, and we check the room for heat and airflow during the survey. If the space is not suitable we tell you what to change before the server arrives.
Who does the installation?
Our own engineers in Al Karama, Dubai, who travel to offices across the UAE. One engineer leads the job from survey to handover, and our Dubai team manages the project. If the server runs a web application or portal we build for you, that software is engineered by our own team.
