Most businesses should not build a custom store. Shopify and WooCommerce cover the usual cases well and we say so. But some businesses in Dubai and the UAE sell in ways no platform was designed for: pricing that changes by customer, contract or volume, catalogues with thousands of configurable products, orders that need approval before they are placed, or a checkout that has to speak to a warehouse and a bank at once. Forcing that into a template costs more in workarounds than a clean build would.
We design and engineer custom stores for those cases, on a modern web stack with the hosting, security and performance budget we apply to everything else. We have built an ordering platform for an FMCG distributor with ERP sync, and food delivery and pet services apps. Complex commerce with real stock and real money behind it is familiar ground.
If a platform plus a few integrations would do the job, we tell you and build that instead.
What is included
- A written discovery report that sets out your buying flows, data and integrations before any design or code
- A catalogue model for complex ranges: configurable products, bundles, trade tiers and contract pricing
- Custom storefront design reviewed on a real phone, with every template built from your brand tokens
- Customer accounts with roles, approvals, order history, reorders and saved lists
- Payment integration with Stripe, Telr, PayTabs, Tabby or Tamara, plus invoicing and credit terms for trade buyers
- Integration with your ERP, warehouse, accounting and courier systems through documented APIs
- An admin area your team can use without a developer: products, prices, stock, orders and content
- Automated tests, staging environments and a security audit before launch
- Hosting architecture, monitoring and backups sized for your traffic
- Training, documentation and a month of support after launch
How it works
1. Discover
Workshops with the people who sell, pick, pack and account for your orders. We map every buying flow and every system the store has to talk to.
2. Plan
A technical plan, a phased scope and a fixed price for the first phase. You see what ships first and what follows.
3. Design
Prototypes of the critical paths first: finding a product, building an order, paying and tracking. Reviewed with real users in your business before we build.
4. Build
Engineering in short cycles with a working version you can test from the first weeks. Payments, stock and integrations tested against real data in sandbox systems.
5. Launch and grow
A controlled launch, often with a group of trusted customers first. Then monitoring, support and the next phase of features planned from what the data shows.
Do I really need a custom store?
Probably not, and we will say so. Custom makes sense when your pricing, catalogue, approvals or integrations cannot be expressed in Shopify or WooCommerce without a pile of workarounds. Discovery settles this before you spend on engineering.
How long does a custom e-commerce build take?
Longer than a platform store. We plan it in phases so you launch something useful early rather than wait for everything, and the timeline is fixed per phase in the plan.
What technology do you use?
A modern, well supported stack chosen for your case: usually Laravel or Node.js on the server, React or Next.js on the front and MySQL or PostgreSQL for data, hosted in a cloud region that suits your customers. We avoid anything exotic so another team could maintain it.
Can it connect to our ERP and warehouse?
Yes, that is often the reason for building custom. We integrate with ERP, accounting, warehouse and courier systems through their APIs, with stock, prices, orders and invoices kept in sync and every failure logged where your team can see it.
Who does the work?
Discovery, planning, project management and your day to day contact are in Dubai. Engineering is shared with our specialists in Chennai, Coimbatore, Singapore and Malaysia, who have built our ordering platforms, delivery apps and ERP integrations.
Who owns the code?
You do. Everything we build for you is handed over with documentation, a repository and the credentials to run it. You can keep us on to maintain it or bring in your own team.
What happens after launch?
A month of support is included, with monitoring and fixes. After that most clients move to a care plan and a roadmap of improvements, because a custom store should keep getting better with your business.
